The North Face - Tough Yet Trendy

Douglas Tompkins and Dick Klopp started the North Face in 1968 as an outdoor gear company in San Francisco. The company was named after the north face of mountains, which is where the climb is much harsher. Their products, designed for students as well as professionals, embody the same spirit of toughness and ability to survive harsh conditions.

The North Face range of products today covers a variety of gear for several outdoor activities including trekking, mountain climbing, river rafting and snow sports, apart from the usual range of backpacks and sleeping bags. Their jackets are also very popular among college students. However, for the professionals, The North Face tents are the company’s most important products, as they are able to provide shelter even at very high altitudes and in severe weather conditions.

The North Face products are priced at a premium as compared to the competition, being aimed at the serious outdoors enthusiast. However, this has led to a number of cheap imitations flooding the market. Most of these are shoddy in quality, with bad finishing and a poorly imitated logo. The North Face logo is easily recognizable, a quarter-circle on a background of red with two lines running on the inside, and once you have seen it carefully, it should be easy to spot the fakes.

Company authorities have been battling the fakes for a number of years now. For this purpose, the company website, where buyers are able to view the entire available range of North Face gear, also provides information on how to spot counterfeits.

The Equipment Needed for Safe Scuba Diving

Enhance your dive experience and keep yourself safe, with quality scuba diving equipment. It is worth your time to know more about the quality of different brands, so that you can select the best and most appropriate scuba diving equipment. Your life depends on your equipment while scuba diving, so make sure you buy quality brand name equipment rather than trying to save money.

Scuba diving equipment has not changed but is dramatically better since Jacques Cousteau made the first Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

The top manufacturers of scuba diving gear are working to make their products safer, more economical, more comfortable and striving for a higher degree of reliability. The following list of basic equipment is required for scuba diving, BCD, mask, fins, snorkel, regulator, guages, weights and watch. One of the biggest advances for the recreational diver is the dive computer. The Dive Computer with its ability to optimize downtime and monitor dive performances will offer a more safer dive.

As mentioned above, one should take care regarding the quality of the equipment, nevertheless, comfort and functionality are important as well. Scuba Diving air tanks can be found in multiple sizes, but tanks that are too heavy or long for you will be a struggle to carry and the dive will be harder.
