James DeMint Who Lives in Pittsburgh USA Recommends Skiing Holidays France

We’ve visited many European skiing fields e.g. Avoriaz, Chamonix, Les Deux Alpes and Isola 2000, however in my experience during all my ski holidays Chamonix Mont Blanc constitutes our top area to go for skiing holidays.

The place of birth of alpine history and home to the magnificent Monte Bianco - at 4807m European Unions’ greatest summit - Chamonix village vaunts a good historical snow register, a drawn out skiing season (November-May), peerless extreme mountain telemarking, and views horizons to die for. Indeed Chamonix France has an world renown since it has some of the most outstanding, intriguing, and invigorating telemarking available anywhere in the planet.

Chamonix Mont Blanc is huge and every bit as disconcerting, and that is before one even include the adjoining skiing towns; for example Les Houches, Le Grand-Bornand, Alpe d’Huez, Val Cenis and Le Tour.

The Mont Blanc skiing lift pass covers seven local, and fifteen regional skiing towns; on skiing equal to 3843 metres, as many as 270 button lifts, and 700 km of ski runs - with the bulk of the ski resorts higher than 2050 metres. They supplies for each level from novices as well as experts. See the skiing domains page for detailed look at all of the main domains: Auron, La Grave, Araches-la-Frasse, Plateau de Beille, Chatel and Val-d’Isere.

Choosing and Financing the Spanish Property of Your Dreams

If you are looking at purchasing property in Spain expert advice can be gained from International Mortgages Spain, based in Marbella on the Costa del Sol.

You can consider many different styles of housing when viewing property in the country of Spain. To begin with, you need to think about which parts of Spain you are interested in living in. You might like to be close to the Mediterranean coastline or possibly on a Spanish island. You might want a lovely country farmhouse surrounded by olive and citrus groves, or does the busy city life of Madrid or Barcelona appeal more?

Within Spain, there is an impressive diversity and amount of property, the amount of which is stunning. This will decide what kinds of property are available to you. If you are set on living inside the city limits, an apartment might be the best fit for you. Affordable town houses and villas are available farther away from the centre.

Once you determine the location type that you are searching for, you then need to decide the style and size of the house you want. You could purchase land, then design and construct your dream home but this option can be very complex. Another option would be to purchase a property, which hasn’t been taken care of, and then revamp it.

When you have decided to buy a home or property, the next step is securing financing. If you are not in the position to pay in cash, you must decide the limits of your budget. For advice on values of property or an assessment of an individual’s borrowing capacity, a conversation with a Spanish mortgage and a financing expert always helps. Specifically, they can review the property records. (Nota simple), which provide pertinent data regarding the value and condition of the home.

One thing that you need to consider if you are moving here from another country is the tax implications. Specific types of properties in different locations may result in different taxes required. Consider employment and travelling distance to shops, banks, doctors and schools. Regardless of where you look, these are no different.

The Fascinating Resort Spas In Asia: Your Perfect Wellness Retreat!

“Ways of healing need no passports or borders”

This famous quote by Anthropologist Carroll Dunham aptly explains the unquestioned appeal of a spa in Asia in the minds of health and fitness enthusiasts globally. With the wellness retreat that spas in Asia are, more and more people all over the world are learning to make better choices for their beauty and well-being. Years of healing wisdom of the spa-experts and spiritual gurus make health and beauty spas in Asia a haven of natural and organic living. Situated among the tranquil, tropical splendor of the resorts of Thailand, Maldives among others, a spa in Asia, offering a medley of pampering body treatments, massages and other wellness therapies, provides an unforgettable experience for many.

The irresistible Asian spas at resorts and fabulous holiday getaways are based on the 5000 year-old oriental ayurvedic practices those are proved to give complete physical and spiritual healing. In this context, Dunham says, “The traditional systems of India, Tibet and Mongolia share the same basis of categorizing imbalances in the body by the three-element system of wind, fire, water-earth in contrast to the Chinese five element system”. Therefore, holistic ayurvedic treatment inside Asian health and beauty spas combines specific oils, herbs and traditional therapies to revitalize this three-element system and rejuvenate the mind, body and soul in the process.

With new and quirky spa treatments (including various signature treatments offered), they act as several ways to bring deeper healing beauty into people’s lives. Given the stress and strains of the bustling city life, thousands of urban people (mostly the urban professional ladies aged between 30 and 50) today are enjoying the ancient therapeutic treatments of the Asian spas that restore inner calm, aid memory, balance emotion and rejuvenate the body.

Signature treatments offered inside an Asia resort spa:
With exclusively designed spa products using herbs and oils from various parts of Asia, an Asia resort spa provides a highly professional massage service, reviving age-old traditions and techniques. These include:

Aromatherapy massage offered in an Asia resort spa, with essential oil blends to help you relax, re-energize.

Hot new treatments, including flower essences, traditional Chinese medicine, crystals and gem therapy, color, light and sound filtering through your body in the steam room.

Spiritual and holistic treatments like Ayurveda, Yoga, Reiki and other healing sessions, including two ancient Asian therapies, Shirodhara (used for centuries to restore inner calm and balance to the emotions) and Udwarthana (used to reduce obesity, strengthen muscles and refresh the body, promote better skin complexion by cleansing, exfoliating, toning the skin).

The famous cranial therapy, in which gentle movements applied to the skull and vertebrae balance the circulation of the liquid that surrounds the brain to release accumulated stress.

Using kitchen ingredients as the food of your skin: Often, top Asia resort spas use natural facemasks, ranging from honey facemasks to papaya masks and sea-salt face-scrubs, natural supplements and healing herbs.

Over the past few years, discerning cosmopolitan travelers have indulged in the extensive range of signature treatments offered by the top Asia resort spas, especially in Thailand, Bali, Singapore and Malaysia. According to recent articles on the Asian resort spas going global, the spa industry in Southeast Asia helps to pull in millions of international tourists each year (10 millions a year only for the spas in Thailand). Over the past few years, countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc. have pulled in high-profile tourists to soak in rose-petal baths and other luxurious delights of the Asian resort spas.

Besides, independent researches have revealed that in 2002 and 2003, Thai spas attracted 2.6 million international tourists who brought in about US$85 million in revenue. Researches have also revealed that the Asian spa industry is growing at around 20 to 30 percent every year, with a lot of European and Asian visitors. With 80 per cent of total spa visits generated by international tourists, Thailand remains the ‘apple of the eye’ for those in the business of resort spas. In India, Kerala being the most favored destination for Asian spas, the enviable destination of the Himalayas also offer the serene tranquility of the spas in Asia. The leisure, lifestyle and business traveler can easily rediscover tranquility in the Indian resort spas, for which the spas are an increasing business in India too.

Its no wonder, then, that that the tantalizing spa treats have appealed to the international tourists not only with their Asian aesthetics, but also with the rejuvenating spa experience that has brought back radiance to their body and harmony among their body, mind and spirit. On the whole, the Asian spas have worked as exclusive retreats for rejuvenation, meditation and for nourishing spiritual mindsets.

Free Apartment Finder Services Make Finding Your Next Apartment Easy

London - 27th September, 2005 - You’ve seen the advertisements
on apartment finder services or apartment locators, the
specialist accommodation bookers for the serviced apartment
market. You might think that it all sounds very expensive,
whereas in fact, it is quite the opposite.

The Apartment Service, based in London, England, specializes in
booking serviced apartments, corporate and interim housing for
corporate and leisure clients worldwide, for periods from a day,
week or month through to a year or longer.

In large cities such as London, New York and Sydney there are
hundreds of apartment buildings spread out over a very large
area. When there are so many properties the apartment hunter can
become overwhelmed with the vast number of choices available.
It’s hard to even know where to start. Driving from one complex
to the next will often result in frustration because the
apartment is not what you’re looking for, or the complex doesn’t
have any units available.

The great advantage of using the services of an apartment finder
is that the company will have a database of apartments which
shows availability. Therefore the apartment finder company will
know which rentals are on the market. This way you don’t waste
time trying to track down apartments with availability.

The advantages are more spacious accommodation, usually
including lounge or sitting area, kitchen or cooking facilities,
quieter location, with increased privacy and security. As
Charles McCrow, Managing Director of The Apartment Service, puts
it: “The problem with hotels is that they are for sleeping in.
The diplomat, especially with family, needs somewhere to sit and
relax, make a snack or a meal, have a meeting or spread out the
paperwork. Serviced apartments will always offer much better
value-for-money compared with a hotel, if public areas are less
important to the guest. It is upon this cost-saving, that this
very model is based.”

The same value extends across the board and broadly speaking
equates to a 25% saving on rates in hotels of a comparable
standard. Branded apartment accommodation usually targets the
mid-market, short to medium stay clients. The accommodation you
can expect is functional with achievable rates of around £65 per
person per night with possible discounts for weekly or monthly
stays in a one-bedroom apartment, although lower rates are
possible in a studio. At the upper end of the market, the rates
will approximately double.

Try using The Apartment Service the next time you decide to move
to a new apartment and see for yourself how much time and effort
you will save on your next move. It makes the whole apartment
hunting experience easy and hassle free.

Rio de Janeiro - One of the World’s Most Beautiful Cities

To read this article with pictures, please copy and paste the
following address into your browser:
http://www.SearchingCities.com/rio_de_janeiro_travel.htm Rio de
Janeiro is my favorite city in the world. The main thing I am
impressed with is the natural beauty of one of the world’s
largest cities. I call the “Urban Jungle,” which I suppose has a
double entendre. One of my friends lives in an area just past
Ipanema called Leblon. He walks down the street his apartment is
on to get to the beach. It’s about a five block walk. Meanwhile,
although there are highrises and busy streets and restaurants
and shops, it’s in the middle of a jungle. Somehow, this factor
makes living there much less stressful. The view from his 12th
floor balcony looks over the mountainside and the mansions that
cover it. Of course, you can also see the ocean. Here’s a quick
list of tips for your trip to Rio: 1) Find a good driver and get
his cellphone number. It’s better to have someone who knows to
expect you than to rely on a cab. Take his advice as to where to
go, and, more importantly, where not to go! This one factor
alone will dramatically improve your security while in Rio. 2)
Eat at the following restaurants: Puercao (Churrascuria),
Esplandada Grill, Leblon Sushi (Best Sushi in the World, bar
none. Also a great “see and be seen” place. They were shooting a
commercial right next to me last time I was there.), Esch Cafe
(for drinks, light snacks, and cigars), Satyricon (fancy seafood
place). 3) Stay at Ipanema, not Copacabana. It’s worth the extra
money because it’s safer, more classy, cleaner, and less
crowded. 4) Caesar Park Towers is a great place to stay in a
great location and has great service if you can handle the
price. 5) Eat lots of Pao de Quesia. You’ll understand when you
get there. Brazilian food is a little salty, but it’s really
good. The salads with hearts of palm are great. There are lots
of rice dishes that are fabulous, many with bits of dried meat
in them. Make sure to go to a Churrascuria while you are there.
Unlike the copies in the US, most of the Churrascuria’s in
Rio/Sao Paulo have the most amazing buffets you’ve ever seen. 6)
Remember that in Rio, most “discos” are actually pick up
locations for prostitutes (yes, that’s true for the famous club
“Help” too), so find a local (or a hotel concierge) to recommend
a place if you are really going out to dance. 7) Cabo Frio,
about two hours from Rio, has great fishing. You can catch your
fill of sailfish and often blue marlin. Paulo, the world record
holder for the largest blue marlin ever caught lives a few hours
east and north of Rio. It’s worth the ride to charter his boat
and have him take you out. He also has a couple of apartments
that he rents out to fishing clients. I highly recommend you go
stay with him and utilize his skills at finding the fish. 8) Beach. Beach. Beach. More stuff to see and do in Rio: Christ,
the Redeemer Statue On top of the Corcovado Mountain at a height
of 710 meters, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the
world’s most-visited monuments. Hire a driver and have him take
you through the mountains and the Atlantic Rainforest up to the
statue. Along the way and once you arrive, you will see several
amazing views of Rio from many different angles. From the top,
the view is nothing short of phenomenal. You can see Copacabana,
Ipanema, Leblon, the Botanical Gardens, the Jockey Club, and the
Lagoon. The entire city spreads out in an unbelievable panorama
during the day, and it glistens beautifully after dark.
Botanical Gardens Rio is home to an impressive Botanical Garden.
You will find many examples of plant life in this huge garden.
The Imperial Palms are among its most impressive attractions,
planted in 1809 by Prince Regent D. Joo VI.

There are huge trees decked with orchids that contrast with
giant victoria-regia, lilies, bromeliads, royal poincianas, and
tropical foliage, making the Botanical Gardens a favorite
tourist attraction. Sugar Loaf Rio’s signature landmark is at
the entrance of Guanabara Bay– the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Take a “bondinho” (cable car) to the top of Morro da Urca and
eat a snack while admiring one of the most beautiful views in
the world. Then, continue on to the peak of Sugar Loaf and enjoy
a complete view of the Bay and the beautiful Rio beaches.

Island of Paqueta Visit the beautiful island of Paquet, lying
in the middle of Guanabara Bay, just one hour from downtown by
ferry. The only means to get to the island is by boat as there
are no bridges linking it to the continent. The only cars on
Paquet are one ambulance, one police car, and one fire truck.
The beauty of this excursion begins when you board the ferry at
Praa XV (downtown). Bring or wear a bathing suit and towel,
because once you are on Paquet, you will love the beautiful
beaches, the quaint atmosphere, and the unforgettable sunset.
There are some wonderful photo opportunities on the island as
well. Modern Art Museum Be sure to check out the Modern Art
Museum located in Flamengo Park close to downtown. The museum is
home to 1,700 works, including paintings, sculptures and
engravings by Brazilian and foreign artists. It’s definitely
worth your time to visit.

Don’t Miss These Awesomely Beautiful Sights When You Travel to Italy

Italy is a breathtakingly beautiful country that will always be one of the highlights for anyone’s travel to Europe. It has everything from the impossibly blue Mediterranean Sea to the spectacular Alps, with fabulous food at every stop along the way. And while you are there, you can’t help but trip over history with every step you take.

Here are few things you cannot miss when you travel to Italy:

–Venice. Think about it. How many movies have you seen that were set in this romantic city? Well there is a reason. If there is a city with more charm and magic than Venice, someone is keeping it a very tight secret. (Oh sure, I can just hear those Parisians objecting that their’s is the most romantic city, but those folks are hardly objective. Besides, this is an article about Italy.)

The “streets” are waterways and the city is gradually sinking into the Adriatic Sea. But don’t worry, it will still be there by the time you get there to see it all.

–The Roman Colosseum.Talk about the original home for extreme games. You can almost hear the ghosts of gladiators clashing their swords and signing multi-drachma contracts with their agents.

The Colosseum is both a spectacular and grim place, considering the many senseless acts of violence that occurred here. Kind of like the beauty pageants are today.

–Florence. If you aren’t already an art lover, you will be after visiting Florence. Walk in the footsteps of Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Raphael and your life will be forever changed.

One word of warning however, if you are already prone to feelings of penis envy or inadequacy, Michelangelo’s 18-foot statue of David, may not be your cup of tea.

–The Vatican. The art, architecture, history and sheer aura of this place will leave you speechless.

–Wine country. The folks in France won’t admit this either, but Italian wines are often every bit as good (sometimes even better) than their French counterparts. Take a tour and you will enjoy the tastings all the more after having seen the sheer craftsmanship and patience that goes into making fine wines.

And need I remind you to purchase a few of your favorites so you can bring them home to impress your friends with your refinement and worldly sophistication.

–The Italian Alps. OK, I will admit that I kept thinking, “these mountains cannot be real. I bet some Hollywood film company put together the ultimate background to impress the tourists.” But in actual fact, they are real. And they are beautiful beyond anything you have ever imagined before in your life.

What has always amazed me was that Hannibal surprised the Romans by bringing elephants through the Alps. Elephants were the ancient warfare equivalent of our modern tanks, so you can bet Hannibal had the Romans running for their adult Pampers as soon as they saw his army coming over those mountains.

I read somewhere that Italy is the home of more American ex patriots than any other country. So you should be warned in advance that if you stay too long in Italy, you might never want to come back. With that in mind, proceed with caution.

Family Fun for Tiny Tots in Paphos, Cyprus

The demands of younger children are usually relatively simple once on holiday in Paphos, Cyprus. They look forward to the beach with much excitement, where they can swim, play ballgames or build sandcastles. No Barbie dolls or Tonka trucks needed here, but as with every child today, their curiosity for a new environment will be boundless and they will want to be amused and test their skills at new activities once you start showing them life outside their exciting Paphos holiday accommodation.

I found some group activities that would appeal to all the family without breaking the budget.

PAPHOS AQUARIUM
A fabulous display of colourful fish from different parts of the globe housed in a re-creation of their natural environment. A perfect outing for the family and a little respite from the hot sun when everyone has sampled a little too much, too quickly. There is an excellent restaurant and a small gift shop within the complex.

ITHAKI AMUSEMENT PARK AND MINI GOLF
This is a fun, inexpensive place for the whole family. Challenge each other to a game of mini golf or let off steam on the bumper cars. For the smaller kiddlywinks in the group there is a play area with swings and a slide and everyone can enjoy a cool drink in the bar on site.

SNAKE GEORGE’S REPTILE PARK
A small establishment run by Snake George, who is often called upon by members of the Paphos public to remove unwanted visitors from their houses or gardens. He has a fascinating display of snakes and lizards and is more than happy to show you around and tell you a few tails. The meager entrance fee is for the upkeep of the reptiles only and all kids will love the hands on experience at the end when, if you are one of the lucky ones, you may get to hold a small friendly snake.

APHRODITE WATERPARK
The waterpark offers a wide and varied selection of rides for children of all ages. Lots of excitement and don’t forget your swimmers. For younger children they have a kiddie’s pool, a pirate ship, a spraying elephant and much more. This is definitely an all day trip for the entire family. Plenty to do for everyone with relaxations areas and food outlets.

PAFOS BIRD PARK
Although there is a very large selection of birds to see, including exotic parrots, toucans, eagles and owls you will also come face to face with deer, raccoons, giant tortoises and wait for it - GIRAFFES in Cyprus! Committed to breeding and conservation, the park offers a friendly environment with a children’s petting zoo, where they will meet kid goats and rabbits. The parrot show is sensational and not to be missed.

Lynda Burke owns and operates the website http://www.rent-a-villa-in-paphos.com and now lives and works in Paphos, Cyprus.

Philippine Destinations

If you have travelled to a great deal of places and all over the world already then you probably have noticed that each city you visit is in some ways distinctly different from all others. You found out how each city has its own essential characteristic: the sophistication of New York, the glamour of Hollywood, the romantic atmosphere of Milan, the artistic flavor of Paris, the old charm of London, the liveliness of Tokyo…but if you decide to travel to the Philippines, there’s one quality that you’d notice all its cities have - and that’s warmth.

Below are several great spots to visit when you travel to Philippines. I assure you that there’s no need to fear getting lost or being treated in an unfriendly manner because the country is quite known as a tourist-friendly place.

Boracay - In recent years, Boracay, found in Aklan, Philippines, became very popular as a beach paradise to tourists all over the world. White sand, sparkling sea water, luxurious accommodation, great food and great company - you’ll find all of those and more when you travel to Boracay.

Intramuros - Fondly known as the Walled City because of its historic significance to the Philippines, traveling to the country wouldn’t be complete without a tour to Intramuros. There, you can check out the museums of the country and get to know a little bit more about the history and culture of the Philippines. Enjoy the beautiful wildlife that Luneta Park offers.

Malacaang Palace - I’m sure you’re aware of the legend of Ms. Imelda Marcos and her shoes. If you want to see where she lived when she was still the First Lady of the country, do try to travel to the deeper part of Manila and drop by at Malacaang Palace.

Ongpin - This is the Chinatown that everyone’s very proud of. If you travel to the Philippines and want to see a different side of Filipinos, perhaps you should travel to Binondo, Manila, where Ongpin is located and get to know the Filipino-Chinese communities. During holidays and festivities, you’d see that the streets of Ongpin would be decorated in authentic Chinese decors and everyone would be wearing red to honor the occasion they’re celebrating.

Banawe Rice Terraces - Located in the northern part of the Philippines, travel to Banawe to see for yourself what’s described as the eighth wonder of the world.
Wherever great spot you may find yourself in the Philippines, you’re sure to be welcomed by the natives with friendly smiles and warm hospitality.

John Grant has been living in the Philippines for 5 years and has travelled the country extensively. His online Philippines Travel Guide contains a wealth of information from Boracay and other hot destinations in the Philippines.

The Cheap Vacations Are Found At Luxury Resorts

Hotels are typically our first option when choosing vacation accommodations. This is no surprise. Where else would we stay? Everyone knows that when you are out of town, you stay in a hotel. We see them on the side of the road and littering the beaches. Hotels are advertised on every travel website. So when we plan our family vacations, our goal is often limited to simply getting the best price on a “hotel.” And that we do. We are proud of ourselves and our $100 a night accommodations.

The hotel room is not a shocker. We know what to expect. We are immediately greeted with the bathroom. Straight ahead is the window with those one-inch thick curtains. To the right is the bed (or maybe two). We are happy when there is a nice chair with a table next to it. We are really living in luxury if there is a private bedroom, but we would have paid $200 or more a night for that option.

I have news for you. You are spending far too much for far too little. How happy would you be if I informed of the option to vacation at a luxury resort for the same price or cheaper than the average hotel room?

Now imagine walking into your resort accommodations. Walking in the front door, you would see a full kitchen off to your left. Straight ahead is the living room with a couch, chair, and love seat facing an entertainment center. The whole place is decorated very tastefully. Windows line the far wall. The master bedroom is off to the left, with a whirlpool tub in the private bathroom. Just before walking into the second bedroom to your right, you notice a closet containing a washer and dryer.

Do you realize that those resort accommodations will cost you the same or less than much smaller hotel lodging? The price for a week at a luxury resort generally runs $600 - $1500 a week, or about $85-$215 a night. When you also consider the fact that your full kitchen can be used as a dining out replacement, you’ve really got a money saving option.

So what’s the catch? Resort rental is so cheap because there are thousands of timeshare owners who have purchased these units and are now trying to rent them out. Dozens of websites are dedicated to just this — helping timeshare owners rent out their unused resort units. Be aware that resorts rent out units in full week increments. You can’t use this option for an overnight business trip. That’s what hotels are for.

Chris Crompton is a timeshare and resort vacationing expert. His free 15-page special report, “Resort Vacationing: How to Take Cheap Vacations to Luxury Resorts” is available at http://www.ResortVacationing.com
